"20 Cool Things About Chocolate"
Thank goodness for our children. They offer us a unique perspective of the world around them. Little Sugar subscribes to National Geographic Kids and from that we can glean current events and world affairs according to an 8 year old. Our favorite article this year was, "20 Cool Things About Chocolate," by Margaret Krauss, National Geographic Kids, February 2011, 16-17. We would like to share some facts and figures with you that we thought were interesting. Grab a chocolate bar and read on.

Here are our favorite informational tidbits. We have paraphrased for brevity and our Sugar Mommas commentary follows in the (-).
The Hershey's chocolate factory produces + 20 million kisses a day. (- Sweet Smooches!)
The scientific name for chocolate Theobroma Cacao, means "Food of the Gods." (- Goddess in our case.)
The average American eats about 12 pounds of chocolate a year. (- More if you are a Sugar Momma.)
Ancient Aztecs believed chocolate had magical properties. (-Isn't this obvious? It also has healing powers if you've had a bad day or a break-up.)
One whiff of chocolate can make you feel happy. A chemical in cacao releases feel-good vibes in the brain. (-We admit it, we sniff chocolate.)

It's good to be a youngster. Enjoy your chocolate and spread the word about the magical cacao bean.
With Sweet Regards,
The Sugar Mommas
