Oven Baked Tacos Recipe

We love tacos. Who doesn’t?! Last night, as I was gathering all of my ingredients to make plain ol’ tacos (using ground turkey to make it a wee bit healthier), I remembered a recipe I had made months ago: oven tacos!I had originally seen a recipe for oven tacos on Pinterest, and had received a thumbs-up from the fam after making them.

“Oven tacos” is just a way of making tacos a little more special. And yes, I agree that tacos are already quite special by definition… This is just a little something to change it up.

Basically, I added a can of Ranch Style beans to my seasoned meat (you could use any kind of beans, though – pinto, refried, black, etc.), lined up my shells in a baking pan, filled the shells with the meat and bean mixture, topped them with some shredded cheddar, and popped them in the oven (preheated to 375 degrees) for 10 minutes.

Easy peasy!

Enjoy! XO

Oven Baked Tacos

Ingredients

  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1 can Ranch Style beans
  • 12 taco shells
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar

Toppings (optional)

  • Lettuce or baby spinach
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Green onions
  • Diced avocado
  • Chopped jalapeno
  • Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
  • Salsa

Directions

Preheat oven to 375.

Brown turkey. After turkey is browned, add taco seasoning, 2/3 cup water and beans. Simmer until mixture is heated through and most of the moisture is absorbed.

Line taco shells in baking pan so that they are standing. Scoop turkey and bean mixture into each shell, and top with shredded cheese.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
