Video Games Geared at Girls

Forget all the rock-em, sock-em video games designed for boys… in the last few years, it seems like video game developers finally realized that girls like to have fun too.

Maybe your little one yearns to explore wild forests and dive to the bottom of the sea. Maybe she just wants to have her own pet monster. Whatever the case, these fun games are tailor-made for girls:

Moxie Girlz

A game that focuses on self-expression with fun quizzes. Their tagline is “Be true and be you” and it’s clear this positive video game will be a hit! You get to pick which Moxie Girl you want to be or you can upload a picture of yourself for a more personal playing experience. Made for Nintendo DS, Moxie Girlz is rated E for Everyone and was released on October 18, 2011.

EyePet & Friends

This game is great to introduce your children to the responsibilities of owning a pet, without the commitment. Not only will your daughter enjoy feeding and taking care of her new EyePet, but she also gets the chance to dress it up in fun costumes and play with it interactively. Rated E for Everyone, EyePet & Friends was released November 15, 2011 and requires both a PS3 and the Move add-on.

Carnival Island

With over 35 carnival games, you and your daughter will have non-stop fun. The amazing graphics will add a new spin to your tired old games. Carnival Island was released November 15, 2011. It is rated E for Everyone and also requires Playstation 3 Move.

Kinectimals

Ever dreamt of rubbing a baby snow leopard’s belly? While the zoo might not let you, Kinectimals will! Scruff a lil cub and a bunch of other fluffy extinct animals. Made for Kinect Xbox 360, Kinectimals was released November 4, 2010 and is rated E for Everyone.

Disneyland Adventures

Skip the long lines and bring Disneyland straight into your home. Help Peter Pan fight off Captain Hook or enjoy a day in the park exploring all the rides Disneyland has to offer. Disneyland Adventures is made for Kinect Xbox 360. It’s rated E for Everyone and was released on November 15, 2011.

Wappy Dog

Wappy Dog is a Nintendo DS game that allows your daughter to control her very own robotic dog. She can groom and feed her pup, as well as teach it new tricks. It’s rated E for Everyone, but due to small parts it’s not advised for children under three years old.

Moshi Monsters: Moshling Zoo

Joining the pet craze are Moshi Monsters, pet monsters that you can play tons of games with! Explore the wilderness to collect all the loveable Moshi Monsters. Moshi Monsters: Moshling Zoo was released November 6, 2011 for Nintendo DS and is rated E for Everyone.

Squinkies

The objective of this game is to find and free all the Squinkies by completing different activities. This game is perfect for the Squinkies enthusiast in your household, especially since this video game comes with the addition of four Squinkies that will help to unlock games within. Squinkies was released April 12, 2011 for Nintendo DS and is rated E for Everyone.

All of these games would be a great choice, but we especially love EyePet & Friends. Check out the trailer below – soooooo cute!
