Happy National Chocolate Chip Day!

Cookies, pancakes, muffins, brownies, crepes, waffles, cakes, pies, cupcakes – pretty much ANYTHING tastes better when chocolate chips are involved.

And lucky for us, today is National Chocolate Chip Day!

These sweet little morsels were invented by accident in the 1930s by Ruth Graves Wakefield at her Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts.

Wakefield was baking cookies for her guests when she ran out of baker’s chocolate. She used bits of semi-sweet chocolate instead and discovered that they didn’t melt into the dough as expected. Her guests loved the cookies and the rest is history… You know what they say, necessity is the mother of invention!

To help you celebrate, here are a few of our favorite chocolate chip recipes:

Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very Delicious (Vegan) Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies with Coconut Oil

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread (Vegan)

To Die For Dessert: Chocolate Chip Cheesecake

Chips ahoy!
