Let's Craft is a special feature full of great crafts, inspiration and DIY projects that are perfect for any Modern Mom!
This project comes from crafty mom Jill Alexander:
"There are plenty of beauty stores where moms can buy exfoliating body scrubs, but we think that homemade is far superior. This delectable smelling body scrub is all natural and made with ingredients that you probably have on hand in the house. There are no chemicals you can't pronounce in here!
The only downside to this scrub - you can't eat it :)"
Here's how to make a wonderful smelling natural body scrub:

The other day one of my teenage daughters told me she was going to delete her Facebook page. She said she kept noticing that her mood and the way she felt about herself changed whenever she was logged on. She felt pressured about her looks and her social life; basically, she was not feeling good about herself whenever she was using Facebook.
I’ve never forbidden my three children from using social media. Let’s be real, this is our future. I embrace change and teach my children that with discretion and good judgment, we can enjoy everything life gives us (including technology). I monitor...

The refrain around my house for the last week or so has been the usual stuff of mid-May: what do you want for Mother’s Day?
It started as a casual question, then became more urgent as the week went on, finally hitting a crescendo by Saturday afternoon.
The problem is, there’s really nothing I want for Mother’s Day. Or at least, nothing I can point to in a store window. Because that’s the thing about being a mother: it’s hard to translate a year’s worth of appreciation into a sweater or a piece of jewelry. Really, I think that all any of us wants is to be appreciated on a regular basis, and...

I simply cannot believe my little preemie is about to enter her last year of preschool. Where did these past four years go?
She started school in Pre-K 2, going a few hours a week. The Pre-K 4 kids had always looked so big to me. It was so hard to believe my baby would one day seem so big. It is amazing how much she has grown.
I am really grateful for my daughter’s preschool. They have done such a good job balancing kindness and compassion with structure and discipline. My daughter has grown and learned so much while there. While she was learning her lessons and growing as a person,...

I’m not just a fat mommy. I’m a fat mommy in the Palisades. It doesn’t get much worse than that.
For those who aren't familiar with the area, Pacific Palisades is a serene, lovely community on the cliffs between Santa Monica and Malibu. Perhaps it’s the close proximity to all the good hiking areas, but the moms around here are like the milk I buy - organic and fat-free.
You walk into a boutique store and you’re lucky to find a “medium.” Palisades moms juice in the morning, pop an egg for lunch, down a salad with protein for dinner. The dirty four letter word up here is “flab.” “Skinny...
