High School Seniors Donate Class Trip Money To Their Principal’s Cancer Fight

With so much depressing news in the media, it’s amazing when we can share an uplifting touching story.

The senior class of Bethlehem’s Profile School in New Hampshire brought their principal to tears when they told her their plan to give her the money allocated for their senior trip. Principal Courtney Vashaw was diagnosed with a rare cancer of the soft tissue and “every one of us has a connection with her, and she has given so much to us that we just wanted to give back,” said Christopher Sirois, the senior class president.

The seniors unanimously voted to donate the nearly $8,000 they had for a four-day senior trip to New York to the principal’s medical expenses.

Vanshaw told WMUR-TV that she always tries to teach students to do something bigger than themselves – they obviously were listening.
