Oval Office Gets a New Look

While the President and his family were on vacation at Martha's Vineyard, the White House decorators got to work. The most famous and powerful office in the world got a new style. A new rug, new sofas, new wallpaper, new lamps and a new coffee table were added to the room.

The new rug was made from 25 percent recycled wool and includes words from Abraham Lincoln's infamous Gettysburg address: Government of the people, by the people and for the people. The coffee table and couches are light brown and have a more modern look to them. The coffee table is covered with tiles made of walnut and mica.

Don't worry- some items have not changed. The portrait of George Washington and the Resolute Desk (installed by Kennedy) remain.

The White House declined to comment on the price of the new decor. We're guessing it may have been a little pricey...
