Louis Gossett Jr. Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer
Oscar winning actor, Louis Gossett Jr, announced Wednesday that he is battling prostate cancer. Gosset, 73, said that doctors caught the disease early and he is expecting to make a fully recovery.
According to the Associated Press, Gosset went public with this information because there is not enough emphasis within the African-American community on preventive examinations and early treatment for prostate cancer.
Gosset is most famous for his role in Officer and a Gentleman, in which he costarred with Richard Gere. Gosset won an Oscar for this role.
