CNN reports a new Department of Defense policy that says all U.S. Military Health Facilities around the world will now carry the emergency contraception pill, otherwise known as "Plan B." The drug prevents the fertilized egg from entering the uterus. The pill is very controversial in the United States.
CNN says that the policy was created after a recommendation from the Pentagon's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
The Pentagon stated that this is a clinical decision, and that the drug is already available at most hospitals and pharmacies.
