We are so excited for ModernMom’s own Brooke Burke who was selected to host Dancing with the Stars! After many anxious days of waiting, it was announced Monday morning that Brooke will replace Samantha Harris as Tom Bergeron’s new partner. Check out Brooke's blog to hear what she has to say!
For Brooke fans unfamiliar with Dancing with the Stars, here is a short description to get you up to speed on the hit show. ABC describes the formula of their show as follows: “Three opinionated judges, eleven professional dancers, eleven celebrities, tons of glitter and spray tans, and one Tom Bergeron.”
Let us now add to that list: one beautiful Brooke Burke.
The show matches 11 actors, athletes, musicians, reality stars, astronauts and where-are-they-now personalities who have zero professional dancing experience with eleven professional ballroom dancers. The show is a competition to determine the best pair. There are three judges, Bruno, Carrie Ann and Len, who score each couple. Viewers get to weigh-in with their online and telephone votes. This fast-paced show is a compelling must-see.
Here is ABC’s 2010 list of celebrities and their professional dancing partners:
Soap star Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinkska
Legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Ashly Costa
NFL star Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke
ESPN host Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Olympic skating champion Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya
Bachelor star Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower
TLC star Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani
Pop star Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough
Comedienne and host Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel
Actress and model Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood
Actress Shannen Doherty and Mark Ballas
Brooke will be an amazing co-host! Her warm and friendly demeanor will bring a great addition to the dance floor. The show premieres March 22, 2010. We can’t wait to watch Brooke back in action on the show.
Here are exclusive comments from Brooke's Mom and Sister to Brooke:
“Wow! This is so exciting. Brooke is such a down to earth person and has always found joy in seeing the hard won success of others. Knowing she’ll be a part of guiding America through the competition after experiencing it herself is the perfect fit. She worked so hard physically and mentally during her winning season and the process alone was a victory. I know she’ll play a great supporting roll on the dancing with the stars team. Living on opposite coasts, we can’t see eachother as much as we’d like so I’m elated that I’ll see her weekly! Way to go, Brooke!! You ROCK!”
