Little Boy's Lemonade Stand Raises $10k for Dad's Cancer Treatment
When Randy Cox was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer three months ago, his son Drew wanted to help in the only way he knew how.
The six-year-old set up a lemonade stand outside the family's Gladewater, Texas home on Saturday morning - selling cups of lemonade for 25 cents.
Word got out about the boy's efforts, and before long, people were lined up to contribute. According to KLTV, people came as far as 70 miles away for a cold drink.
"It's the best place in town to get lemonade," one patron told reporters.
But little Drew wasn't surprised by the crowd. "I was thinking that everybody would come," he said.
By the end of the day, the stand had raised more than $10,000 to help with the family's medical bills.
