For Valentine's Day, Do You Spend More on Your Kids or Spouse?

Sure, it may be the day when we’re expected to revel in romance and shower our lover with tokens of our affection, but a new study of 800 mothers finds that when a woman becomes a mom, she spends roughly the same amount of money on her husband as she does on her kids.

“Moms will spend, on average, a thrifty $24 on a Valentine’s Day gift for their spouse - just a mere dollar more than the $23 they will spend on gifts for their kids,” Parenting.com reported.

When it comes to what the moms say they really want for Valentine’s Day?

A third of the respondents said they wanted a date night and one in seven said they wanted “a day/night off from the kids and household responsibilities.”
