Heroic Dog Saves Owner's Life After a Fall

A heroic miniature schnauzer named Danny saved his owner's life after she fell down and broke her hip.

Bethe Bennett slipped in her kitchen, breaking her hip and passing out in the process. She woke up to her helpful canine licking her face. The dog then knocked over the phone and nudged it over to her so that she was able to dial 911 for assistance.

“I would still be there...nobody was coming to check on me until Monday or Tuesday,” she told ABC News. "I was scared. I really thought I was going to die."

Danny, a trained service dog, used to care for Bennett's now-deceased mother.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be the one he’d have to rescue,” Bennett said. “He was my little hero.”

Bennett is an author based in Arizona who writes stories about the foster dogs she takes in. She plans to include Danny in the next installment of her "Forever Home" series, written under the pen name Bessie Mac.
