Lindsay Lohan Hospitalized After Major Car Crash

Lindsay Lohan was taken to the hospital after her Porsche collided with a truck in Santa Monica, California Friday morning.

According to reports, the actress was not seriously injured in the car accident, which took place at 11:30 a.m. on the Pacific Coast Highway.

"She was driving northbound ... and she collided with a large dump truck," Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis told PEOPLE. "There were no injuries to the parties in the dump truck."

Authorities added that her injuries were not severe. TMZ reports that Lohan and her assistant (who was also in the car) were taken to the hospital with bleeding and bruises but that both were conscious and alert.

"Gratefully it's not worse," said Lewis. "When you have a larger vehicle and a smaller vehicle involved in a collision, those can be devastating sometimes."

The Porsche's window was shattered, the bumper smashed and the airbag deployed.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
