The pop singer's mom, Mandy Cornett, welcomed a baby girl with husband Brian Teefey.
It's the first sibling for Gomez, 20, whose parents split when she was five.
"Momma and Brian are finally letting me share the news...My mommy's carrying my baby brother or sister :) I'm the happiest girl in the world!" she announced in May.

Berry's fiancee Olivier Martinez, confirmed Wednesday that the couple was expecting a little boy.
“My son will be an American, but I remain French,” he told PEOPLE.
The 47-year-old actor spilled the beans at the opening night of the Champs-Elysées Film Festival while joking with reporters.
Berry, 46, and Martinez began dating in 2010 after working costarring in the thriller Dark Tide. They became engaged about a year and a half ago.

After three years of marriage, "Glee" star Jane Lynch and her wife Dr. Lara Embry are getting divorced.
"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage," Lynch told PEOPLE in a statement.
"This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter."
The 52-year-old actress met Embry, 44, at a 2009 fundraiser in San Francisco honoring Lynch. The two were married on Memorial Day 2010 in Sunderland, Massachusetts.

After nearly 30 years of marriage, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife have announced that they are divorcing.
"It was our joint decision, our marriage is over," the political leader said in an interview with Russia24.
Vladimir Putin, 60, and Ludmila Putina, 55, were married in 1983 and have two daughters, Maria and Yekaterina.
