Did you buy baby formula before the baby came?

I have some formula checks that expire soon and I am contemplating if I should excahnge them with another person for diapers or buy formula in advance. What do you think? Also would you use Enfamil Premium and Enfamil Lipil together or would you stay with one and use it all the time instead of going from one to the other?
