Birthday sleepover for 8 yr old boy?

My little guy is having a few friends over for a sleepover tyhis weekend instead of a big party---weather is unpredictable and i wont spent $150 for a party at the skating rink and have no one show up! We can always plan a party when it warms up anyways...........So i was just wondering what all i could do, i know they will pretty much keep eachothher busy playing xbox and board games, and i was gonna let them make their own little bisquit pizzas and then decorate cupcakes later on. And I also wanted to know, how well do 7-8 yr olds spent the night away from home? My son had someone spend the night with him at his grandmas house, but never here. And I'm not even sure if i would let him go somewhere else to spend the night, so i dont know how the kids will be.....We know all the parents and kids, just wondering.....
