Just in time for Father's Day, there's a new children's book for dads everywhere to enjoy with their kids.
"Because I'm Your Dad" is a silly and sweet story of the special relationship that every father has with his little one - or in this case, with his little monster.
"Because I'm your dad, I'll make sure you know to pogo stick. I'll go to all your soccer games, even when they're far away. And when you fall asleep in the backseat, I'll carry you inside.
The book is written by Frank Zappa's son Ahmet Zappa, which might explain the following line: "Because I'm your dad, you might have an...

In 1897, Henry James published a novel about a young child shuttled back and forth between her irresponsible divorced parents.
Although the premise is more than a century old, "What Maisie Knew" is perfectly re-told in modern day New York in a film adaptation that's both beautiful and hauntingly sad.
The movie shows a bitter custody battle through the eyes of the six-year-old at the center of the dispute.
Maisie's parents Susanna and Beale (played by Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan) are spoiled and selfish, using their daughter as a pawn in a messy divorce when not neglecting her entirely...

So as I mentioned in my Tech New Year’s Resolution post, I never stick to my New Year’s resolutions and this year was no different. I pretty much fell off the wagon immediately after I wrote my original post but flash forward to May and I have revisited #3 - Monitor my finances weekly.
In my case, it’s because I live in one of the MOST expensive cities in the world - Vancouver, Canada. Right now, gas is $1.49 per liter, which means every week I fill up my awesome back-saving minivan, it costs me $90. Ouch!
To help monitor my finances I have been using a product called NeatDesk. It’s...

The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown is available now on Amazon.
There are few relationships in this world more complicated than the bond between sisters: the snarled ties formed by blood, birth order and shared history.
Eleanor Brown explores the relationship between three sisters who find themselves back in their hometown - and living back in their family home - when their mother is diagnosed with cancer.
Rosalind, Bianca and Cordelia were named by their father, a Shakespeare scholar of mild renown with a passion for all things Bard.
