The Kroger chain of grocery stores is recalling spinach sold at grocery stores in 15 states due to possible Listeria contamination.
The recall affects 10-ounce bagged Fresh Selections Tender Spinach with a "best if used by" date of Sept. 16.
The Kroger Co. said the product was sold in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.
The recall involves its Kroger, Jay C, Owen's, Pay Less, Scott's, Food 4 Less, Dillons, Baker's and Gerbes stores in selected states.

Nearly 3,000 children's water bottles sold exclusively at H&M stores have been recalled due to a choking hazard.
Reason for the recall: The water bottle's spout can break off, posing a choking hazard to children.
Description: The 16 oz. water bottles are pink plastic with a crackle design or blue plastic. The bottles have flip-top lids in coordinated pink and blue colors. "H&M Sweden" and "www.hm.com" are embossed on the bottom of the bottle.

Whole Foods Market is recalling cheese sold in 21 states and Washington, D.C. because of fears it may be contaminated with Listeria.
The ricotta salata came from its supplier Forever Cheese Inc. of Long Island City, Queens.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

The California Department of Public Health has expanded its black licorice recall after determining that additional Red Vines products manufactured in a Union City production center also contain elevated amounts of lead, according to officials.

In 2009, a two-year-old girl from Commerce Township, Michigan reportedly strangled in the loop of a vertical blind cord that was not attached to the wall or floor.

Approximately 2 million Mother's Touch/Deluxe Baby Bathers in the United States and 65,000 in Canada have been recalled because they present a fall and head injury, according to the CPSC.
The company, Summer Infant, states that when the bather is lifted and/or carried with an infant in it, its folding wire frame can suddenly disengage from the side hinge, dropping the baby out of the bather, posing a fall hazard and a risk of serious head injury to infants.

First cantaloupes, now mangoes - is any fruit safe to eat this summer?
A recent salmonella outbreak in California appears to be linked to tainted mangoes imported from Mexico that may have sickened more than 100 people in several states as well as Canada.
At least 73 California residents have been infected with a strain of salmonella Braenderup linked to mangoes, Matt Conens, a spokesman for the California Department of Public Health, told NBC News.
