The portly puss was already overweight when he first arrived at the home of Dee and her family as a stray two years ago, but a warm, cosy house with lots of creature comforts including treats, have seen him get even bigger.
“Maverick’s extra weight is really affecting his wellbeing,” said Dee. “He has trouble breathing and spends most of his time sleeping. I was really shocked when the vet said he is the biggest cat he’d ever seen. We really want Maverick to get back to a healthier weight, as we want the best for him and feel sorry for the poor wee man. He is such a wonderful pet and does get treated like a baby and we would be lost without him.”
