Being thrifty can be challenging when you have a family, and with the cost of food rising, your family budget can take a real hit at mealtimes, with dinner being the most expensive. About 2 years ago, I was planning on baking cookies for a friend’s birthday, but I didn’t want to bake the traditional chocolate chip cookie. I wanted to make something a little different, so I searched online for some inspiration, and came across a recipe on BettyCrocker.com that caught my eye. It didn’t seem too far off from the typical chocolate chip cookie, but added a couple more ingredients that I thought would add just the right twist that I wanted. So off to baking I went.
