About Cori Linder
Cori Linder is a mother, writer, editor, athlete, teacher, volunteer... and sometimes all at once! As a professional editor, she has worked closely with notable child development specialists, editing their books. She has a B.A. degree in Communications from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a Master’s degree in Professional Writing from the University of Southern California (USC). She has published a children’s book as well as interviews and articles in magazines. As a creative writer, her passion is to apply creative writing concepts to those of parenting. She hopes she can write in a way that illustrates that perspective while inspiring parents to add more color and flavor to children's lives! Her goal: to encourage and empower moms. P.S. Sometimes our seemingly smallest acts can have the largest impact -- and what's more profound is that we might never even know just how much.
Take the Starbucks drive-thru, for example.
Many of us journey through that drive-thru as a means to an end. It’s not a destination; we don't even walk inside. We want to grab and go. For me, it’s a gateway to my caffeine and my favorite sandwich wrap on this planet. I expect nothing else beyond that, and I get slightly annoyed if the car in front of me takes too long at the cashier window.

My 9-year-old son still believes I have super powers - which I do have, of course. Every mother has them.
When I see him studying me from the corner of his eye for any visible evidence, I quickly remind him that a superhero never brags about such powers and only uses them when needed. This seems to make perfect sense to him. I mean, was Clark Kent ever strutting around in his super cape in the newsroom with Lois Lane? Nooo.
But then one day, my son excitedly asks me to tell him exactly which superpowers I have, which inspires a moment of serious contemplation on my part. “Well…” I answer....

Out of all the women on Bravo’s reality documentary TV program, The Real Housewives of Orange County, Peggy Tanous (who joined the sixth season cast) resonated with me the most.
Maybe it was because I empathized with her postpartum depression struggles and noted her courage to talk about it in a very public forum.
Maybe it was because she, with her holistic edge, championed for healthy living. Or, maybe it was simply because she had the moxie to walk away mid-season from a hit TV show.
