We all like saving money, especially at the grocery store, and coupons are a great way to get discounts. But when you first start out in the coupon world, it can seem a little overwhelming.
Luckily, there are some simple ways to save when you go grocery shopping. Here are the steps in my weekly process:
Step #1
Have a coupon system. You need to have a way to organize your coupons so you can easily access them. Everyone has a different style so you just have to go with what works best for you. For those of you just starting out, a simple coupon organizer might work. For those of you who...

Let's start out 2012 being better people, better savers and smarter shoppers!
My own journey so far has taught me a lot and I love to be able to share what I learn with others. So here are some ways I have learned to save. I hope they'll be helpful for you as well!
Use Coupons
You really can save money using coupons. The challenge is to learn how to make it work for you. You can visit my coupon page, which is filled with new coupons each day that you can print and use. Also note: If you are new to couponing, scroll to the bottom of the page and watch our tutorial video.

I have gotten this question a few times and I thought I would share with you one way of doing so. Coupons.com offers printable coupons and I share them on my site all the time. But sometimes they come out with coupons that are referred to as "bricks" coupons. They will look different because rather than having a page with many coupons where you choose which ones to print, the entire page is dedicated to just this one coupon. If you look at the very bottom right corner of your screen you will see a "help" button. Click it and they will give you the option to have your coupon mailed to you...

With couponing finding a whole new audience lately, I thought I would cover a few beginner's pitfalls. As a new couponer, there is so much new information at your finger tips and oh so many deals, but there are a few things to watch out for. Here's what NOT to do:
Do not go to a store for just one deal.
The reason for this is two-fold. First, the items you are going to buy might be sold out or the deal might not be the same at your store. That is why you often see on couponing blogs the letters YMMV - Your Mileage May Vary. Not all stores have the same prices on items, which I know can...

Do you have any pets? If your kids love animals, but you dread all the money you have to spend on vet bills, food even clothing - I'm right there with you!
We have a long list of costly creatures that have taken up residence at one time or another in our home. Here's a general price breakdown on all the different pets we've welcomed into the family (and the budget).
Dogs: We have had three dogs since my children were born. These four-legged friends did not come cheap. Add up the cost of puppy training at the local pet store, their vet bills and new carpeting (after they decided that carpet...

I held a garage sale last weekend and it got me thinking about what makes successful garage sale. Obviously, if you're going to take the time to get up early and lug things out into your front yard, you want do everything you can to ensure that you hold a great garage sale.
Here are some tips I hope you find helpful:
Make sure you throughly go through all your things before the garage sale so that you can have as many items as possible available. The more items you display, the more it will make people get out of their cars and not just drive past.
Think about holding your...

If you are one of the million plus people who canceled your Netflix subscription when they decided to charge more, I have a great way to get DVDs to watch for FREE! Now this will require your town to have one thing..... a library.
Our local library offers 2 week DVD rentals for free. And before you tell me, "Yeah, but they are old movies," I am here to say they have recent releases too!
My library is part of a library collection, meaning that libraries within approximately a two hour drive share items with each other. So when I go online to search for a movie, I have a large catalog...
