Birth Announcement Ideas

October 11, 2009 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

You can’t really go wrong with any type of birth announcement, but there are some that are far more memorable than others. Your baby is a standout, so why not create outstanding birth announcements? To create a keepsake birth announcement good enough to frame, all it takes is a little inspiration.

Movie Posters

Check out the movie poster birth announcements at 5starbaby.com. With movie titles like “The Newborn Identity” and “Top Son,” there is a poster to fit every baby’s personality. Everyone involved in your baby’s birth gets credit, from parents (producers) to doctors and midwives (directors) to family members (critics). Posters are customizable, and the attention to detail is exquisite.

Techie Birth Announcements

Geek out with techie birth announcements from BoxOfficeBaby.com. If your friends and family understand SQL better than Shakespeare, write your birth announcement in code. Your techie friends will be impressed by your creativity. Tech Code baby announcements come in pink and blue.

Campaign Posters

Put your baby’s image atop a catchy campaign slogan. There doesn’t seem to be anyone mass manufacturing campaign poster baby announcements yet, so this one might require some Photoshop skills and a decent printer. A clean head shot of your baby with patriotic images and an elephant or donkey will surely stir up conversation.

Gig Posters

Go retro with rock star birth announcements from Rattle-N-Roll. These ultra-cool birth announcements are reminiscent of the handbills posted on city streets announcing not-to-be-missed events. They’re printed on sturdy 8.5-by-5.5-inch cardstock and come with your choice of envelopes. They’re customizable, so if you wish to alter the colors or add text to the back, Rattle-N-Roll will oblige. Circus posters are also available.

Seeded Paper Cards

Enclose your baby’s photo in a birth announcement made with renewable seeded paper. After enjoying your birth announcement, friends and family can plant the card in the ground, allowing the seeds to sprout and give life again.

Magnets

Get hung up on magnetic birth announcements from VistaPrint.com. Upload your most adorable baby photo to one of its dozens of photo magnet templates. You can crop photos or resize them, and the text is also customizable.
