Boy or Girl Pregnancy Signs

Finding out you are pregnant can be exciting. Your thoughts may quickly turn to the nursery, the decorations and the baby clothing, but without knowing your baby’s gender, it can be difficult to get started. Several medical procedures, including an ultrasound, can tell you if you are going to have a boy or girl. It is also fun to learn about the various old wives’ tales that relate your pregnancy symptoms to a gender.

Cravings

Many women believe the gender of your baby can be determined by the foods that you crave. Cravings are an almost overpowering desire for specific foods or flavors. Sometimes, those desires are for unusual foods, such as pickles and ice cream. Other times, they are normal foods but the craving for them is intense. The old wives’ tale says if you crave sour foods, such as lemon juice or pickles, you are carrying a boy. If you find yourself reaching for sweets and chocolates, you should start thinking about girl names.

Pregnancy Pimples

It has been a long tradition to predict the gender of your baby by how many pimples you develop during your pregnancy. The old wives’ tale guides women to believe if your face breaks out and you develop acne you are going to have a girl. If you find your skin has light acne or has cleared up and become pimple free during pregnancy, you are going to have a boy.

Morning Sickness

If you find you are epitomizing the foundation of morning sickness, the old wives’ tale belief is you are having a boy. If, however, you sail through your pregnancy with little or no morning sickness, the prediction is for a girl.
