Girl Celebrity Hairstyles

July 27, 2010 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Young celebrities are as influential as the more mature celebrities are. They can also dictate trends among their age groups. When it comes to hairstyles, girls pay attention to what the famous celebrity girls are donning so that they can mimic their look and style. Girls can choose from the different hairstyles that are available for every type and length of hair.

Bobbed Fringe

Dakota Fanning is one of the most bankable young stars in the 2000s. Since she was a little girl, she showed cinematic presence with her acting talent and looks. During the 2010 movie premiere of the movie “Eclipse,” Dakota donned her signature bobbed fringe. At age 16, the simple style of her hair complemented her age, fair skin, facial features and elegant outfit.

A bobbed fringe is a longer version of a classic bob cut, which usually has short bangs and an overall length that ends at the chin level. The bobbed fringe has fringes or bangs that reach the shoulder but are often a little shorter than the sides and back tresses. Parting the fringes in the middle or sweeping to one side and finishing with flat or curling irons will add flair. Dakota parted her fringes in the middle, which she kept straight.

Jagged Bob

At the 2008 CNN Heroes event, Selena Gomez, who was 16 years old at the time, donned a jagged bob haircut. Her straight, jet black hair looked shiny and smooth. The hairstyle is similar to a classic bob cut; however, it features jagged edges, which give a textured and wispy finish to the ends that reach the shoulders. Cutting thick, heavy bangs right at the same level as the eyebrows, helps frame the face. A jagged bob can work for long, medium as well as short, full hair (neck length).

Long and Wavy

Girls with long hair can add wave or big curls to make their hair wavy. In 2010, you can find singer and actress Miley Cyrus, 18, sporting long, wavy hair in almost any events. To achieve the look, brush hair to remove knots and tangles. Blow-dry hair after shampooing, but leave it a little damp. Apply light or liquid mousse by massaging it through the tresses. Using a 2- or 3-inch barrel curling iron, apply heat to create big curls. Tousle hair when done and apply light hairspray to hold the curls.
