Birthday Party Ideas for a Girls’ Night Out

Let’s face it. Girls do want to have fun, but with all the craziness of life, fun doesn’t always work its way into the equation. The next time you need a break, recruit some of your best girl friends and hit the town. A girls’ night out might be just what you need to rejuvenate and rediscover yourself before getting back to your family.

Scheduling

Plan your party in advance to guarantee you and your friends have free schedules. Talk with your friends about which day will work for everyone. Your birthday will be a disappointment if you are the only one who shows up. You can hire a babysitter or plan a separate get-together for all the dads and kids, to ensure they have fun that night, too.

Preparation

If you are going to spend an evening out on the town, you might as well look good. Buy a new outfit if it’s in the budget, or recycle an old one with a new pair of shoes or piece of jewelry. Kick off the evening by meeting your friends at the salon or local makeup counter. Get a manicure or a little makeover so everyone feels her prettiest that evening.

Activities

The evening’s festivities should reflect your interests and comfort level. If your town boasts a swanky bar or two, you can step in for a drink. Upscale restaurants and clubs provide food and drinks to keep your energy up. Rent a room in the location or hire a limousine for the night, if you would like a place to relax. Nights at the symphony, out at a concert or in a winery are memorable girls’ nights out. If your husbands or partners are free, and babysitters are hired, have the guys meet you out at one of the locations for a romantic rendezvous.

Happy Ending

After exploring the town, you may not be ready to head home. Set aside a hotel room for the girls to crash at. Order room service for a quiet breakfast while everyone wakes up, before packing up and facing reality again.

Young Partiers

Young women love a girls’ night out as well. Instead of heading out the clubs, invite the girls to your house for your girl’s birthday slumber party. Give manicures, pedicures and makeovers before a karaoke or dance party in the living room.
