Our Father’s Day

OMG!!! I have 4 days to pull it together for Father’s Day. I miss my Dad around this time of year. There is something so comforting about knowing that someone is on your side, wherever, whenever, no matter what. My Dad and I had that going, and I miss it… the way he said, “Hi Babe”, or just knew what was up by the tone of my voice. Even when I tried to fake it during a tough time, he always knew what I was feeling, and that always warmed my heart.

David

In a weird but healthy way David has somewhat taken his place, and now is the one male that I turn to. So, Sunday I will be celebrating David, and here’s what I am considering for gifts….

Ideas!

Someone gave me really cool coasters with images transferred on to them. I would love to make a set of those with the kid’s photos for our home. I am having a graphite portrait of Rain and Shaya made for David and his Father. I also always love to have the kids make home made coupon books filled with activities that they think their dad would enjoy, like breakfast in bed, dinner alone with ME, watching a sports event together (tickets), hugs and kisses, a massage, a promise to listen, etc.

1 Free Hug

Coupon books are fun because dad can cash them in all year long. I really like photo books that you can customize and print online, that’s a great keepsake for Dad. Last year I gave David a gold dog tag-like pendant that reads PAPA on one side and AMOUR on the other, he wears it every day. Unfortunately we will be in flight on our way to NY this Father’s Day, but we will all be together so I will be celebrating the best we can.
