Actress Marissa Jaret Winokur readily admits that the first year of motherhood wore her out. Marissa, a DWTS veteran and co-host of CBS’s mommy version of “The View” coming this fall, is mom to 2-year-old Zev.
“You get sleep-deprived because you’re up all night. People don’t tell you this! I still haven’t had a good night’s sleep since my son has been born – still to this day.” Marissa tells People.
Being a new mom was quite a shocking experience for Marissa, as she honestly admits, “I became a mother and it was so overwhelming because it was just that moment of, ‘Oh, my God. This is forever,’”
Luckily, she’s gotten over most of her initial fears about motherhood and even offers others advice, “I tell every mom out there that at 11 months the cloud will lift and you will start feeling like yourself again.”
While she dishes mommy advice, she also looks to others in the mommy club for help. “I ask for all the mommies’ advice on Facebook. The best that I’ve gotten so far: when everyone else was telling me not to sleep in the bed with my son, they said, ‘If you need a good night’s sleep, go sleep in the bed with your son.’”
And, guess what? She gets some of her best sleep in her son’s racecar bed!
