Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Kristen Bell – and now Penelope Cruz!
The 38-year old actress is expecting her second child with husband Javier Bardem, sources confirmed to Us Weekly. The baby will join big brother Leonardo, 2.
In an interview with Vogue shortly after her son’s birth, Cruz opened up about the ways that motherhood changed her life.
“From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. That’s the best way I can describe it.”
“It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”
The baby news means the Spanish star and her younger sister Monica will be pregnant at the same time. In January, Monica announced that she was expecting her first child via an anonymous sperm donor.
Cruz and Bardem, 43, were married in July 2010 in the Bahamas. They are part of a short list of husband and wife Oscar winners (Cruz for Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Bardem for No Country for Old Men).
Others on the list include Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and Sam Mendes and Kate Winslet (who have since split).
