I had the good fortune of attending the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 2 – while I loved the first movie, I thought the highlight would definitely be seeing Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black and the other amazing actors behind the loveable characters. And, yes, it was quite a thrill to see
them, and I was thoroughly impressed by how gracious and friendly they all were to the fans. Angelina was especially outgoing and friendly to the children there – definitely a ModernMom extraordinaire. But, let me tell you, the movie did not disappoint – in fact, it was down right AWESOME.
I’m always a little leery of sequels. Sometimes you just want them to leave a good thing alone – but they nailed this one. It’s hilarious, sentimental (yes, I shed a tear), exciting, and has a great message. The Furious Five and Po (Jack Black) share a mutual respect and friendship that is in total alignment with what would happen after he proves himself in the first film. The characters grow and change while still staying consistent to who they are. The lovable Panda (Jack Black rocked it) discovers who he is and what’s really important.
The movie is truly an action film that will keep the kids and parents entertained but is also thoughtful and moving.
