Why Every Mom Needs A Sleepover
Mom sleepovers are essential to your good health. The concept sounded strange to me. Last week, a group of women writer friends and I planned to attend a convention in San Diego.
When Will My Baby Sleep Through the Night?
While you likely knew long before the baby arrived that the weeks immediately following her birth would be a bit light on sleep, it is still often hard to adjust to this exhausting sleep pattern. It is understandable that as you move through the exhausting nights of continually interrupted sleep that you will become eager for your little angel to rest her head for more than three hours at a time. Try to avoid getting stressed over this temporary stage. As your kiddo continues to grow and develop, she, like all babies, will likely sleep longer, allowing you more restful nights.
Birthday Sleepover Games
It’s your child’s birthday, and your house is about to be invaded by a small group of his friends for a sleepover. Keep them busy with several games so that they don’t resort to pranks such as crank calls or dipping each other’s hands in hot water. Schedule the games so that active and loud games happen early in the evening and quieter games occur as the children are winding down for bed.
Sleepover Party Birthday Ideas
Attending or throwing a sleepover birthday party can be a rite of passage for many preteen and teenage children. Spending a night away from home shows that they are old enough to be away from their parents while giving them a chance to bond with other children their own age. Unfortunately, slumber parties can get out of hand when bored children start teasing and playing pranks on each other. Keep your child’s sleepover running smoothly by planning structured activities for the guests.
Sleepovers… Should You or Shouldn’t You?
Its the age-old question, but like most things in life, there simply isnt one right way to do things when it comes to our kids. Sleepovers can be a fun rite of childhood passage. Personally, I can remember some terrific (and safe!) slumber parties with my close friends. These experiences were part of a wonderful childhood, and many parents would like their own kids to be able to enjoy the same. Yet, sleepovers can also be a slippery slope just by their very nature, and its certainly appropriate for parents to have legitimate concerns. Weve all heard stories about children being molested while at a sleepover. And yet many other children will enjoy sleepovers without anything bad ever happening. Instead of offering one absolute about sleepovers, my perspective is sometimes yes and sometimes no.
