In 2009, a two-year-old girl fromCommerce Township, Michigan reportedly strangled in the loop of a vertical blind cord that was not attached to the wall or floor.

Lowe’s is recalling approximately 11 million Roman shades and roll-up blinds after reports of two children who were nearly strangled by the exposed cords in the back of the shades, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
