
McDonald’s has somehow found a way to rule the world. Perhaps some of their success is due to their wide range of menu items and their need to please different tastes. Here are a few tasty but unusual McDonald’s menu items from around the world. But, don’t hold your breath that these items will make it to the U.S. The only way you’re getting your hands on these items is with a plane ticket!
1. Bacon Potato Pie – Japan
It’s like an apple pie, but with mashed potatoes and bacon.
2. Cordon Bleu Burger – Poland
Burger topped with ham-stuffed fried chicken patty and bacon.
3. Cheese Catsu Burger – Japan
Fried pork filled with cheese, served with tonkatsu sauce.
4. McAloo Tikki – India
The McAloo Tikki is a veggie burger with a patty made of potato and chickpeas, with tomato, onions, and a vegetable-tomato mayonnaise to top it off. McDonald’s had to seriously revamp their menu before opening up in India. Beef and pork were eliminated from the menu and chicken and vegetable options took over.
5. Mega Tomago – Japan
Double Big Mac with with an egg patty and bacon. OMG.
6. McArabia – Middle East
Grilled chicken or grilled kofta (beef with spices), with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and garlic mayonnaise, wrapped in an Arabic style pita bread.
7. Beer – Europe
Beer is served at McDonald’s in Germany, Frace and a few other countries across Europe. Can you imagine beer on the McDonald’s menu in the U.S.??
8. Das Nurnburger – Germany
Triple bratwurst sandwich.
9. McLobster Roll – Canada
Lobster salad on a roll. (Also available in parts of New England)
10. McMollettes – Mexico
Refried beans, cheese, and pico de gallo served on an English muffin.
