Veteran's Day

I just came back from an amazing, super busy trip to NYC.  My manager, agent and I met with book publishers for 2 days to pitch my book. It’s been an incredible experience working on the proposal and defining who I am, how I do what I do and what drives me.  It’s filled with mommy moments, good, bad and ugly, it’s honest, revealing, and hopefully inspirational to many. It went great and I am hoping for good news next week, fingers crossed! Honestly I have been doing so much soul searching and reflecting on my life that it has been difficult to blog lately. Now after 48 hrs of back to back mtgs that were all about ME, I am sick of talking about myself!!! So here’s the short version of what’s up in my life.

Even though NY was business, David and I squeezed out every moment of pleasure that the city could offer us. We enjoyed 2 fun dinners, had 2 uninterrupted nights of sleep, and just the right amount of romance. But, much too soon, we were back on the night flight to LA to make it home before the kids awoke.  Talk about action packed!

Shaya just came down with a fever tonight, I am hoping for the best, but I am also feeling a bit under the weather. I am sure that an airplane is one of the worst germ transmitters; even though I drenched myself in hand sanitizer.

I totally enjoyed Veteran’s Day with all my kids.  The entire 4th grade had a bowling party, which I took the whole posse to.  Shaya even threw a few balls down the railed lane.  Then I took all the kids to the mall, I usually dread that, but everyone needed something different and the department store was the best one-stop shop to dress the whole family!  I actually got it all done in one place, that’s amazing for my bunch and there was a huge sale today, lucky me!

Everyone is fast asleep right now, including David so I am working as fast as I can to get caught up on hundreds of e-mails. Late night has become my best time to work – unless I’m so wiped out that I don’t even make it to my own bed after story time.  Not tonight though, it’s just me, Mac, and a nice cup of green tea.  I’m about to start researching web content, I always like to see what’s going on in the Internet mommy world.  I never had access to a community like this when I was a new mom.  There is so much to learn from each other.  What would you like to hear more about on ModernMom?
