Host a Royal Wedding Viewing Party Fit for a Queen!

The wedding of the century is just mere days away! Don’t fret because you can’t be at the actual event in London, sitting next the Queen herself. With the convenience of modern technology, the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is coming to your very own living room. Invite over some of your closest girlfriends and host your very own viewing party. It’s easier than you think! Whether you plan on watching it live on Friday (April 29) morning or catching the recap later, we’ve got some ideas to help you plan the ultimate viewing party, because an event this big can’t be missed!

1. Deck Out Your Living Room
If you go all out with decorations, you’ll truly excite your guests! Anything British- or Royal-themed will do. Get mini British flags for your guests to wave around. Offer paper or plastic crowns to all the ladies, so everyone can feel like a princess. Remember, blue is the color of royalty – and Kate’s gorgeous engagement ring. Just have fun with it!

2. Traditional Teatime
Serve tea and crumpets like the royals do. Serve scones, jam, muffins, finger sandwiches — anything that will make you and your guests feel oh-so-British. Remember to stay classy and stick those pinkies out when taking a sip!

3. Let Them Eat Cake
In the famous words of Marie Antoinette, “let them eat cake.” Regardless of whether this was said in contempt of commoners or even said at all…you must have cake at a wedding! You can buy a crown-shaped baking pan or opt for cupcakes decorated with mini British flags.

4. Smell the Roses
Nothing says wedding quite like a fresh bouquet of flowers. Whether you get roses, tulips or orchids, a flower-filled vase will make a festive and romantic centerpiece.

Cheers!
