Sometimes You Have to Look Ahead to Find the “Joy”

November 30, 2010 by Laura@GiveMe10 Leave a Comment

Ive been thinking about a quotation my friend, Nancy, sent me for the holidays: If it causes more stress than joy, dont do it. December has just begun and Im already a bit overwhelmed and stressed. Its only going to get worse! In the midst of one chaotic day after another, you wonder how much joy is to be found.

Stop the Huffing!

I get a text in the middle of the school day from my 15 year old daughters friend, which immediately gets my attention and raises some level of concern: She simply states a boy in her class is sniffing white out. Yes reader, you read correctly, sniffing white out — and in class to boot. This alarmed her enough to reach out to me. She texted me that she was angry at the boy for doing it.

Recycling in Baby Steps

It never ends. You really really want to do it right but it can be so hard. It starts with the choice of nappies when the baby is born. I went into overload and sourced Egyptian cotton, washable terry elasticized ones that had cute green trim. Now you can get ones made of bamboo. The choice is endless.

Modern Christmas Time Traditions: AKA Dr. Seuss’ Genius

November 30, 2010 by Shaun_Sturz Leave a Comment

Since graduating college and living on my own over the past few years one of my new favorite holiday traditions is to make myself comfortable in front of the television after a long day and watch 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family with hot chocolate in hand and close friends and family at my side! This is one holiday tradition I cannot wait to get started and quite literally requires little effort to enjoy.

Leaving Room to Grow

November 30, 2010 by Edward Biagiotti Leave a Comment

Recently I have noticed that my son has been spending more time by himself. Sometimes it is hard to leave space within a relationship for growth. What may be a natural distance can feel uncomfortable or goes against expectations about what a relationship should look like.
