Do Not Eat Romaine Lettuce – E.Coli Outbreak Sickened 32 People

It’s pretty bad timing since Thanksgiving is in two days, but if you bought romaine lettuce, please throw it away.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned U.S. consumers not to eat any romaine lettuce. A new outbreak of E. coli has sickened 32, 13 have been hospitalized and one person has suffered a type of kidney failure, according to the CDC.

The CDC even recommends cleaning refrigerator drawers where your romaine lettuce was stored, just in case. They have not found out the source of contamination yet, so just to be safe throw it all out. Make sure to also check if your mixed bag of lettuce contains romaine. Here are a few salad options for Thanksgiving that don’t require romaine.
