SMILING IT FORWARD ™ Through a Fever

November 6, 2014 by Guest Writer Leave a Comment

This blog was written by Darci at EverythingMommyhood – make sure to check her out her blog!

The following post is sponsored by TYLENOL®.

Being a mom isn’t always easy. One of the hardest things to go through as a mom is your child getting sick. The absolute worst is when they have a fever. Let’s face it, they’re miserable and they want mommy (or daddy) and, of course, they just need to rest. As a parent it’s so hard to see our children so miserable and us feeling so helpless, all we can do is comfort them and try to make them as comfortable as possible. All you want for your children when they’re sick or not feeling well is for them to get back to their normal playful self.

I remember back when my oldest daughter was a baby. As a new mom, I was a bit clueless as to what to do the first time she got sick. She had a high fever, and really was just not feeling well. She was only 11 months old and seeing seeing her so sick and helpless made me feel so sad and helpless. I just wanted to take all of her pain away; it made me so sad to see her non-stop crying. I called her pediatrician in tears, begging for some solution to make my helpless little baby better. The pediatrician was wonderful. She was able to calm me down and recommended that I give my baby Tylenol along with a tepid bath to get her fever down so she could get some rest. She assured me that I wasn’t the first, first-time mom to call her in tears, begging to get help to make my little one feel better.

After giving my sweet baby girl a dose of TYLENOL® and giving her a tepid bath, her fever started coming down within just an hour. Within a few hours her fever was completely gone, and my baby’s precious smile was back. She was back to herself and giggling and laughing away. This made my husband and me completely happy. We were happy to have our happy baby back! Later we came to find out she had a fever due to some new teeth that were coming in. We kept up with a few doses of TYLENOL® over the next couple of days until those pesky teeth made their way through my daughter’s gums.

Infants’ TYLENOL® is the brand recommended most by pediatricians. Infants’ TYLENOL® relieves minor aches and pains due to the common cold, flu, headache, sore throat and toothache. Infants’ TYLENOL® also temporarily reduces fever. Join TYLENOL® – a brand relied upon by moms for nearly 60 years – by SMILING IT FORWARD™. Let’s help moms across the country achieve and celebrate their child’s “feel better” smile through various milestones. Upload a photo that makes you smile and $1 will be donated to Children’s Health Fund to help ensure a doctor’s visit is always within reach for children in need!

I have received information and materials from McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL®. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post.

* Between June 23, 2014 and November 30, 2014, McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division of McNEIL-PPC, Inc., the makers of TYLENOL® is inviting anyone 18 and older to upload a “smile” photo on the TYLENOL® Facebook page. Each approved “smile” will trigger a $1 donation from TYLENOL® to Children’s Health Fund, with a minimum donation of $75,000 and a maximum donation of $100,000.
