Jenny McCarthy Advocates for Autism on Larry King

Jenny McCarthy was on Larry King late last week to talk about autism, which her son Evan was diagnosed with, along with two doctors. Things got pretty heated Jenny said that her son, Evan, would not be autistic if it wasn’t for medical vaccinations. When one doctor started to say vaccinations are a boon to a lot of families, she cut him off and was bleeped out when she claimed it was “BS”.

Jenny said, “The way I treated Evan and the way a lot of the way these parents are treating their kids is not treating autism. We are treating vaccine injury and the kids are getting better.” She added, “And the amazing thing is that I want people to know first off — because a lot of the things that we’re going to talk about is vaccines — is that I’m not, nor is the autism community, anti-vaccine. We’re anti-toxin and we’re anti-schedule.”

She continued, saying that doctors are giving too many shots, too soon. “Instead of, you know, leaving it as a dead end, you know, diagnosis, I went online and I found a community called Defeat Autism Now,” she said. “And for 12 years, thank God, this community of doctors and scientists, who have been healing and treating kids with autism, I believed enough — even though my pediatrician at the time said it’s all bull — and followed this treatment and my son got better.”

While this treatment might not work for all parents and in all cases, I am really proud of Jenny for continually speaking out for her son and all kids diagnosed with autism. She sure has come a long way since her “Singled Out” days to become a great inspiration for all modern moms.
