Hollywood’s eternal bachelor is back on the market… George Clooney and Stacy Keibler have split up after two years of dating.
Rumors have been swirling about the couple’s status for the past few months, and came to a head after the two were photographed spending the Fourth of July on different continents.
Keibler, 33, partied with girlfriends in Los Angeles, while the 52-year-old Clooney spent time at his Italian villa.
As for the reasons for the breakup, sources say it boils down to different life goals.
“Stacy called it quits. She wants to have children and a family someday. She knows where George stands on that,” a source told People. “They talked and they quietly stopped being a couple several weeks ago.”
The source added that the split was mostly amicable.
“They talk every day. They were friends before they started dating and they’ll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup].”
Both will have a lot on their plates in the coming months. Keibler is hosting a new reality show, Supermarket Superstar while Clooney is filming his upcoming drama Monuments Man.
