Jimmy Fallon: My Daughter Was Born Via Surrogate

Two weeks ago, Jimmy Fallon shared the surprise news that he and his wife welcomed their first child and now he’s also revealed that the baby was born via a surrogate.

The talk show host opened up about his daughter’s birth in an upcoming interview with The TODAY Show:

“It wasn’t really a secret, but my wife and I had been trying for awhile to have a baby,” Fallon, 38, told Savannah Guthrie in a pre-taped segment airing next week. “We tried a bunch of things — so we had a surrogate.”

Because of their fertility struggles, Fallon and his wife Nancy, 46, decided to keep quiet until the baby was born.

“This time we just said we’re not going to tell anybody, it’d be just more fun if it’s just private between me and my wife and then we get to introduce her to everybody,” the beaming new dad added.

He posted a photo of his daughter on Instagram on July 25 with the caption “I would like to introduce… Winnie Rose Fallon.”

(You can see the photo here.)

As for how he and Nancy – who have been married since 2007 – felt about her birth:

“When it happened we were in shock. We were like, ‘Alright, who do we tell? Who’s going to be mad at us if this gets out,'” the comedian said. “We had to call everybody and it’s so emotional!”

Congratulations to the whole Fallon family!
