How To Talk Sex

When things are rocky in the bedroom, you may find that you need to talk to your spouse about sex. This can be uncomfortable for both of you. It is important, however, that you overcome any trepidations you may have about the conversation so that you can get things right again.

Step 1

Think about the problems and possible solutions. It is important that you do this before you bring up the subject to your spouse. You can write the problems and solutions down if you think you may forget something during your conversation.

Step 2

Pick a time when you can both focus on the subject. Talking to your spouse about sex when there are distractions around is a bad idea. Sex is an important part of marriage. When there are problems in this area, you both need to be able to concentrate on solving them.

Step 3

Stay calm and put the focus on you. Blaming your spouse for the problem or accusing him of being inconsiderate in the bedroom will make the problem worse. Tell him what you would like to see happen and what you can do to make that happen.

Step 4

Be willing to compromise. This is really important in any marriage, especially when you are talking about sex. If there are things that she likes and you dislike, it may be possible to compromise with her by allowing her to do those things sparingly instead of forbidding them all together.

Step 5

Try to understand his point of view. He may think that things are fine the way that they are and may want to keep them that way. Try to find out what he likes so that you can figure out ways to incorporate those things into your compromise
