Toddler Girl Bedroom Decorating Ideas
Decorating a bedroom for a toddler girl no longer defaults to doing up everything princess-style. This is not to stay that a princess bedroom is not stylish, especially with jewel tone accents instead of pastels and some gold paint and sequins to provide the necessary sparkle. No matter what style you choose, try to involve the little girl in question so that she can get creative and have fun with the project, too.
Fairy
There has been a resurgence of popularity for Tinkerbell, who now adorns bedding, throw pillows, waste bins and throw rugs. But everything does not need a Disney logo to make it about fairies. Fill colored and clear bottles with baubles, shells, glitter and spells (but, if your girl is under 3 years old, avoid choking hazards). Use twinkly party lights as decorations. Paint magic wands on the wall and place some gauze tissue paper fairy wings by the head of the bed.
Fairy Tale
Draw from fairy tales for inspiration for a toddler girl’s bedroom. Think along the lines of castles, enchanted forests, wishing wells and dragons. You can decoupage fantasy images onto a step stool, toy box and bookcase. Use paint and glitter to make sparkly treasure boxes for holding collections. Drape gauze, taffeta or chiffon fabric around bedposts and window frames.
Beach
A beach bedroom decor is fun and easy. Paint an ocean mural on one wall, or accessorize with pieces made of wicker, bamboo, white-painted metal and canvas. Roll out a woven mat as a throw rug. Use sheer curtains in a shade of Caribbean blue or green. Tie together some bandannas for an impromptu hammock perfect for a menagerie of stuffed animals.
Jungle
Jungle themes are lovely in a toddler girl’s bedroom, but keep things cartoon-looking and fun to avoid nightmares. Create a jungle theme with wallpaper cutouts, posters, stencils or stick-on murals. Populate the jungle with stuffed animals. Put a small play tent and sleeping bag in the corner, equipped with a flashlight. This is lovely for playtime, reading or camping in overnight. Add to the effect by sticking glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling.
