Room to Read Invests in Literacy and Gender Equality in Education

Room to Read is an organization that believes the world should be a place where all children can “pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their community and the world”. In doing this, they focus on literacy and gender equality in education in developing countries by teaching kids how to read and supporting girls to complete secondary school with the life skills needed to succeed in school and afterward.

Prom Night for Ill Teenagers

Talk about unforgettable! The Friends of Scott Foundation is doing something awesome for some very ill teenagers in San Diego, CA on March 4th, 2011. Kids who’ve been diagnosed with cancer at Rady Children’s Hospital and Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Diego will be treated to a fun-filled evening where they can forget about their disease and dance the night away. They’ll be given the movie star treatment–red carpet and limousine included!–during a very special prom night at the San Diego Hall of Champions in Balboa Park.
