Glamorous Holiday Makeup Tips to Make You Merry!
by Cyvia Lewis
Whether you're attending an office party, girlfriend’s get-together, a charity event or a neighbors' house, your holiday makeup should make you feel festive and cheerful!
Let’s start with our Skin…
Healthy, glowing skin is a must! Look and feel great with a shimmery body lotion or dust on a powder that will make your skin glisten.
Benefit Moonbeam Cream is iridescent magic!
Bronzing oils and powders will also brighten up you skin’s appearance. I can’t live without Josie Maran’s Argan Bronzing Oil.
Let your LIPS be Merry and Bright…
Shimmery lips will amp up an everyday look in seconds.
I found a multi-gift set of lip glosses at TARTE. It contains 3 individual gift-sets which includes 5 glosses. And on sale, too!
For a pop-out pucker, place a dab of glitter powder in the middle of your lower lip for extra dimension and sparkle.
The Bold and the Beautiful
RED lips, PINK lips. They’re sensual and chic, plus they look especially festive during the holidays. The current trend on celebrities and in magazines is an intense and vibrant hot pink lip. You can achieve this any number of ways depending on what type of lip product you prefer: lipstick, lip gloss, lip balm, or lip marker/stain.
Josie Maran’s “Luxury with a Conscience” Cosmetics are my top pick because you can stain your lips with this easy to use marker and top it off with lip balm or lip gloss depending on your look. It lasts much longer than lipstick so it’s perfect for mom’s on the go
Instant Dazzling Eye Looks
My favorite holiday beauty tip is also the most simple. Lining the rims of the eyes (in the water-line) with a waterproof liner, it takes very little effort, and the look is instantly sexy.
Makeup Up Forever offers a limited edition Aqua Eye pencils that are water resistant, highly concentrated and come in fantastic colors.
For a fun holiday, mix it with a deep blue or burgundy eye liner. Look for a liner which already contains a hint of sparkle.
JK Jemma Kidd Silver Screen Mascara Liner Duo and already contains a hint of sparkle in their formula.
Dab a touch of silver or gold glitter on the eyelids. It sticks effortlessly to any cream eyeshadow or eyeliner. Appy it to eyelid and smudge it around so the color is evenly spread on the lid, then dab you finger in a powder glitter and gently press it onto lids. It will deepen the color and set the cream so it won’t crease.
A Smoky Eye…Naughty or Nice
Jewel tone smoky eyes are turning heads everywhere. If the thought of sparkling sapphire or emerald green intimidates you, try layering them on top of a gray or black shadow. I’m sure everyone has a bold color in their make-up drawer that they never used.
CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast is a great choice!
There’s no better way to amp up your look than with long, lush lashes. I’m a huge fan of mascara- we all have such different lash needs, so pick the one that makes your lashes the most flirty.
