How to Compare Best OTC Diet Pills

April 8, 2010 by ModernMom Staff Leave a Comment

Many women use diet pills to help them achieve their desired weight. Whether the diet pills are prescribed, or can be purchased over-the-counter (OTC), there are so many to choose from it can become overwhelming about which one to take. With some proper research and questions, you will be able to pick the diet pill that works best with your lifestyle and ultimate weight loss goals.

Step 1

List one or two important features you want your diet pill to have. Whether you want the pill to curb your appetite, be made from natural ingredients, speed up your metabolism, or be inexpensive, you should have an idea what you are looking for when you begin your comparison.

Step 2

List all the diet pills that you are aware of, both prescription and OTC medications.

Step 3

Look each pill up on the Internet or go into a store and read the box. Using a spread sheet method, mark off what advantages and disadvantages each pill has when held against your list of important aspects.

Step 4

Speak with your doctor and get her recommendation about what pill she believes would be best for you. Ask her for explanations about her choice and take your spreadsheet to the office with you to mark out what she says.

Step 5

Narrow your choices to three. Try each one for a month to determine which one works best for you. During the trial period, maintain similar eating and exercise habits, so you will know which pill is the most effective for your body lifestyle.
