Recipes for Skin Care at Home
Glowing, well-moisturized skin is at the top of many women’s wish lists. The health and beauty market is flooded with products that promise to produce this much-sought-after skin, but these products often come with a high price tag. Frugal chicks should consider beauty-enhancing alternatives that they can whip up at home. With a little effort and some easily procured ingredients, you can create beauty treatments sure to transform your complexion.
Pretty Kitty Facial
Borrow some maintenance materials from your cat to create this easy clay facial. Mix a handful of 100 percent natural kitty litter and 1/2 cup water in a medium bowl. As the litter mixes with the water, it will soften and form a grayish clay material. Spread the mixture onto your face, and leave it on for approximately 10 minutes. The clay will remove excess grease from your face and leave your skin silky smooth.
Zit Pain Relief
Zits are a pain in the butt–but they don’t have to be a pain on your face. Reduce the discomfort and redness of your latest blemish with ease using only aspirin and water. To create this magical mixture, crush one capsule of uncoated aspirin and mix the powder you produce with water to create a thick paste. Dab this paste onto the offending blemish. Allow the mixture to sit for five minutes before washing it away with soap and water. The soothing aspirin will reduce the redness and swelling in your zit, making it easier to hide.
Exfoliating Oat Scrub
Get rid of your dead sink naturally with a homemade exfoliating scrub. Combine 1 tbsp. oats, 2 tbsp. sour cream and 1 tbsp. lemon zest in a small bowl. Rub the course creation on your face. Allow the mixture to sit on your skin for approximately 10 minutes. Wash the concoction away with soap and water to leave your skin fresh and new.
Egg-Sellent Mask
Don’t waste your money on pricey spa treatments; instead detox your skin with a few inexpensive ingredients. Simply mix two egg yolks and a 1/2 tsp. of lemon juice in a small bowl, and smear the mixture on your face. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. While it sits, whip up the egg whites to produce a healthy breakfast. Wash the mask off your face, and then moisturize and apply your makeup as usual to finish off your morning pampering session.
Sweet Honey Hand Scrub
Don’t let the skin on your face have all the fun. Teat your hands to some luxury care as well by mixing up a sweet honey hand scrub. Combine 1 tbsp. honey, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 tbsp. lemon. Rub the sweet serum on your hands, and relax for five minutes. Wash your hands as normal to remove the sticky mixture. Your hands will be left smooth and supple.
