Stressed about Easter dinner? Don’t be. Impressing the in-laws is easy with this delicious ham recipe. Top off this savory ham with a sweet gravy to wow them at the table.
- 1 whole boneless ham
- 1 small bottle of cherries
- Ground cloves
- 1 can pineapple slices
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- Brown sugar and honey (optional)
First things first: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Unwrap your ham, and place it on deep baking pan. Place a cherry in the middle of a pineapple ring and secure it to the ham with a toothpick. Cover the ham with the pineapples and cherries. Place the remaining pineapple and cherry on the bottom of the pan. Pour some pineapple and cherry juice (from the jars of pineapple and cherry) over the ham. Save some juice to baste the ham while it is baking. Add about 2 cups of water to the pan and sprinkle with cloves.
Cover your ham and bake it for 3 hours at 325 degrees. Baste every half hour.
About a half hour before your ham is done, pour the juice from the ham pan into a medium saucepan. Heat well. Whisk together 1/3 cup water and 3 tablespoons cornstarch. Add water and cornstarch mixture slowly to the juices, stirring the whole time. Add a couple tablespoons of honey and 1/4 cup of brown sugar, if you would like. Stir well. Pour over the ham and bake uncovered for the last 20-30 minutes. Serve warm.
