Let’s Craft: Terrific Halloween Treats!

October 29, 2015 by ModernMom Crafternoon Leave a Comment

Today’s craft is brought to us by The Crafting Chicks:

“Hello ModernMom readers,

I’m Becky – one of the five Crafting Chicks. We are moms who love to share our ideas and crafts that are inspired by our kiddos. Today I’m going to show you a fun, quick project to showcase your treats for Halloween. Sometimes it seems like we are always just handing out the candy. I wanted to do something to make it a special! (BTW – these are also perfect party favors for a Halloween bash!)

So here’s what you’ll need:

  • Fun Halloween paper
  • Clothes pins
  • Ribbon
  • Hot glue gun or other adhesive
  • Small jewelry sacks
  • Candy corns or other small treats
  • Black ink
  • A print-out of the Halloween sayings

Start out by hot gluing your ribbon to your clothes pins. I added these spooky spider embellishments. You could just tie another fun ribbon on the clothes pin if you can’t find a fun embellishment like these.

Next cut your paper. For the background paper, I cut it to 3×6 and then I cut the word paper to fit.

After everything is cut, ink your edges. The messier the better on this. I think it gives it a fun spooky look.

Adhere your word tag to the background. Fill your little treats bags.

Stick your cute little clothes pin on the card to hold the treat bag in place.

And you’re done.  Now you have a fun little treat to hand out to your friends and neighbors.

I think I’m going to send my daughter with these to her preschool class.
